Proposal(s) for Documentation

Everything in this wiki space can be regarded as a proposal for new content or revisions to existing content which the official Backdrop CMS Documentation comprises. You may find the extant official Backdrop CMS online documentation at https://docs.backdropcms.org/.

Here we offer the following documentation, some of which is proposed new additions, others of which are proposed changes/edits to the official documentation.

more will be added ATKOS (as time keeps on slippin' [into the future] ).

To my fellow editors and authors:

Perhaps everyone else is already familiar with what “they” call wiki syntax, but in case you're on the same “newb” level as me… The buttons across the top of here (once you click “edit”) are pretty much self-explanatory, and it's all pretty simple.

If you want to create a new page, here's how: Just create a link to it like this:

[[Page Title]]

and it will show up as a [red] non-existent link, like this: Page Title.

Then, when you click on it (as you'll see if you do so) it gives you the opportunity to create the new page. Note that if anyone does create that page, the link will turn green, because now it exists.

To delete a page, simply click to edit it, then delete its contents, then click “save”. Voila: page deleted. You can go through those steps right now to see how it works.

About these Wiki Page Layouts

The table of contents in the upper right corner is auto-generated. It follows the headings on the page, and does not show any of the links to subordinate pages. The latter should [initially] be listed (by us, the authors) in a section at the top of each page, and they will also show up in the sidebar to the left.

I have installed the CommentSyntax module, which allows C-style comments to be embedded in the text for editorial purposes. If you choose to edit this page, you will see a comment right here –>

Discussion

I have enabled the “discussion” module, as you can see here. I don't know if this is useful. Perhaps these discussions should take place in Zulip. I leave it up to y'all to decide that.
